Sleeping

Dan slept through the night for the first time! Last night he went from 10 til 7, previously his longest stretch had been from 10 - 4 (which is still technically sleeping through the night - who came up with that definition?).

I don't expect the same tonight, it was such a vast improvement from his previous record that I think it will be another couple of weeks (or months) before that becomes the norm.

Sleepy

Carrying a sleeping child from the car to their bed is what being a dad is all about.

Simon found Mummy's shoes.

Still BFF

Smiles

Dan is getting very good at smiling now.

Simon is still good at smiling. Simon is also getting good at speaking. He's getting the hang of using please and sometimes thank you. But what I'm most excited about is that he (sometimes) uses words to ask for things, although since he overgeneralises it's not always clear what he wants.

Choo Choo

We went to Mount Victoria with Del and Suds last week. Suds and Del took Simon to see the Zig Zag railway.

Simon was fascinated by the train and has been practicing his train noises since.

Winter

With the onset of winter, both boys came down with a chest infection. Simon sounded awful with a chesty cough and Dan was having a bit of trouble breathing so he spent two nights in hospital under observation. Dan didn't need any treatment in the end and he has recovered nicely.

The nurses gave him a balloon to cheer him up. Simon likes it too.
